Frequently Asked Questions by Vendors
Here are some of the questions we heard when discussing PayPerNet with merchants.
I want to sign up! What do I do?
First, to sign up today you will need to go through a few hoops since
we are in pre-release and require a Non-disclosure Agreement
(open only to corporations).
When we'll be operational, signing up will consist of the following:
- Downloading the Vendor Kit
- Creating a file with your parameters (name, address, phone, website, etc.)
- Using the ppnvendor module to request a Vendor ID from PayPerNet.
Nothing else is involved. After receiving your Vendor ID, you can start receiving PayPerNet payments.
How do I bill through PayPerNet, and can I
bill internationally?
When the user has chosen PayPerNet as his payment method,
then your billing is directly to the customer,
through our (automated) services. The international
billing procedure is no different from billing
locally. You use the same procedure. The only
thing you should think of is the currency you
want to present to the user.
Who carries the payment risk during
transactions paid through PayPerNet?
This depends on the type of transaction. Most
often, payment risk will continue to reside with
you, but PayPerNet offers payment methods and
services that allow you to move the risk to
PayPerNet. Some types of payment inherently
do not carry any payment risk for you.
How will I receive payment from PayPerNet
for my on-line sales?
If the amount you are receiving is above a certain threshold (currently estimated to be around USD300/EU300),
then you will be paid, based on your
preference, by either check, bank wire, credit card
or another locally common means of payment. If
the amount is smaller then the on-line payments due
to you will accrue in an account automatically
created with PayPerNet, until the total
sum meets the requirements to pay out to you using traditional
means. PayPerNet will offer services which allow you
to determine the total sum due to at any
time. Also, you may request payment from PayPerNet of
small amounts; however, if the sum is below the
minimum then you will face an overhead/payment
charge.
How secure is PayPerNet?
PayPerNet uses a 1024-bit proprietary implementation of the RSA
encryption algorithm for all its communication. On top
of that, a host of security features are
designed into the system. Finally, time-limited encrypted
confirmation requirements and challenge/response
features allow us to guarantee top security.
What risks are involved with international
transactions through PayPerNet?
No other risks than the risks associated with local payments, with
the exception of (in certain cases) currency
exchange rate fluctuations.
